The Hutch Zine: A Tribute
Curated by Eliot White Contributors: Tyler Barton, Erin Dorney, Aaron Spangler, Samantha Sweigert, Eliot White, Robin White
This is a zine that you can't buy anywhere. It's one of my most prized possessions. For one amazing year of my life, I lived in a house with 5 other people. There were three couples living there and we called our 3-story house "The Hutch". Eventually we all moved out (us to Minnesota for grad school, the other couples bought houses of their own—around the corner from each other!) and made this tribute zine. Everyone submitted their own pages, Eliot compiled it, and then we all got a copy. It's full of the best things—quotes overheard or tweeted, pie/flow charts, found poems sourced from emails to our (shitty) landlord, ruminations and letters, movie recommendations, quizzes, lists, illustrations of chest hair, and even a personalized Catan board (all roads lead to the hutch). This zine probably won't mean anything to you, but to me it's a reminder of friendships that were bonded over cockroach hunting, gin & tonics, and a whole lot of love. I miss you frickers so much.
